Chelsea didn’t get the result they wanted on Wednesday, losing to Bayern Munich, but one positive was Cole Palmer getting a debut goal.
Chelsea were bested by the German champions on the night, but Palmer’s goal and overall performance proved that he belongs at this level.

He wasn’t the only Chelsea star to impress in this week’s Champions League action, though.
A teenager the Blues signed back in March played the following night, outdoing Chelsea’s talisman with an assist and a jaw-dropping solo goal.
Geovany Quenda also got his first Champions League goal
Chelsea signed 18-year-old Geovany Quenda from Sporting back in March, in a double-deal that also included midfielder Dario Essugo. Quenda has remained in Portugal for this season and is already thriving on the biggest stage.
Sporting faced Kazakh side Kairat in their Champions League opener, delivering a convincing 4-1 win.
Quenda popped up with an assist for their third, before producing a moment of magic a minute later to put the tie to bed.

The goal was pure individual brilliance, cutting in from the left and dancing past three opposing defenders before finding the far corner.
It was a glimpse into the quality of the Portuguese winger, whom Chelsea paid £44 million for.
Quenda could give Enzo Maresca a headache next summer
Chelsea fans have been impressed by Quenda almost every time he takes to the field, but the decision to let him stay at Sporting this season makes sense given the amount of attacking depth Chelsea have.
Another 18-year-old, Estevao, is challenging for minutes already, but to have two such players might not make sense for Enzo Maresca’s rotation plans.
That being said, the Chelsea boss will want the best tools possible at his disposal next season, and if Quenda continues on this trajectory, it might be that he pushes another attacker out of the squad.
That would be a good problem for Maresca to have, though.
Chelsea’s recruitment just keeps on giving with these young stars.
