As Chelsea continued to strengthen their squad where possible in the recent summer transfer window, some of their current players were very much thrown to the wayside.
If there has been one criticism of Todd Boehly and co’s time as owners of the club, it has been how they have ruthlessly dealt with some players who are no longer in their plans.
This is despite them at times spending most of their life as a Chelsea player. The club made it very clear they had no plans to include Conor Gallagher as a first teamer this season before his move away.
The same seemed to happen to Trevoh Chalobah, who was left off the pre-season tour of the United States to try and force his move away.

It took until deadline day for him to move on, with him moving to Crystal Palace on loan until the end of the season.
The Englishman has now established himself as a starter at Selhurst Park, with their fortunes slowly beginning to turn around.
Chalobah has now spoken about the situation which occurred at Stamford Bridge over the summer, stating to BBC Sport that it was difficult to deal with.
He said: “It was hard. With football, challenges have to come, you can’t separate challenges and success. I’ve been through a lot growing up. I didn’t let it affect me.
“Everyone can conduct themselves when it’s all good, but I think it’s when things are not going your way, you’ve got to be really strong [mentally].
“Coming in, training, doing my own bit. I waited patiently, didn’t sulk, didn’t feel sorry for myself but just got myself ready, and I’m here.”
Chalobah likely to be sold by Chelsea this summer
Levi Colwill and Wesley Fofana have been the starting duo for every Premier League game they have been available for.
While there is not much faith in those behind that pairing in the Chelsea ranks, there still looks no appetite to bring the loanee back into their plans.
It has been reported Chelsea are still likely to sell Chalobah, with them potentially bringing in a replacement straight away.
While they are not strongly linked with anyone at the moment, they are admirers of Benfica star Tomas Araujo.
