Axel Disasi is facing a frustrating first half of the season because he’s out of the picture at Chelsea. Could there be a way back for the French defender, though?
Blues centre-back Axel Disasi is currently working away from the first-team scene at Stamford Bridge, and the same goes for Raheem Sterling as well.
Last month, Enzo Maresca spoke up on Disasi and Sterling by confirming the club are giving both individuals the chance to work in the right way. Apparently, Disasi and Sterling have trained with Chelsea’s Under-21s to keep themselves fit ahead of potential transfer exits in the January window.

Chelsea ran out of centre-backs vs Liverpool
Despite a large squad filled with high-profile centre-backs, Chelsea found themselves in a bit of a defensive crisis against Liverpool. That can be highlighted by the fact that the pairing that finished the league win in the heart of defence was Reece James and Jorrel Hato.
Levi Colwill is out with an ACL injury to leave a major hole in defence. Meanwhile, Tosin Adarabioyo missed Liverpool with a calf problem plus Wesley Fofana was absent with concussion. Trevoh Chalobah was serving a suspension, too.
Even though Benoit Badiashile and Josh Acheampong came off against Liverpool with potential injury concerns, it was confirmed the defensive pair were okay.
So, could forgotten man Disasi return as an extra option in central defence?

Chelsea not looking to reintegrate Axel Disasi
According to The Sun, things would have to get even worse with Chelsea’s defensive problems for Disasi to be recalled from the infamous ‘bomb squad’ to the first team.
It is explained that the current defensive situation at the club won’t change their stance on the 27-year-old player.
The report explains that Disasi and Sterling are both registered to play for the Blues. However, the hope is that this two-week international break will give the squad time to recover before they play again on 18 October away to Nottingham Forest.
Disasi decided to stay at Chelsea on deadline day despite late Premier League interest. Hopefully, he can find a solution in the New Year because he’s a decent player entering the prime years of his career.
