Chelsea are expected to be busy when the summer transfer window comes around, no matter where they finish in the Premier League this season.
The Blues set Enzo Maresca the target of finishing in the top four, however that has now shifted to a top five finish after it emerged five Premier League sides will qualify for the Champions League.
The attack is certainly an area where they will feel they need to strengthen, after the likes of Pedro Neto and Jadon Sancho have not had the impact many desired when they joined over the summer.
The latter’s status is still very much up in the air with him currently on loan from Manchester United, as the Blues have an option to pay a small fee to not activate the obligation.
There is interest in Sancho from elsewhere. He would be keen on returning to Borussia Dortmund should the opportunity arise.

Chelsea named as favourites to sign Jamie Gittens
Ironically, the Bundesliga side have a player who Chelsea are extremely interested in signing this summer in the form of Jamie Gittens.
The Blues were recently handed a boost in their efforts to sign the Englishman when it emerged that Gittens had asked to leave Dortmund at the end of the season
They also have the option of utilising a number of their first team players in any potential swap deal. As well as Sancho, Carney Chukwuemeka is currently enjoying a loan spell with the German club.
Journalist Sacha Tavolieri has claimed that the Blues are the favourites to sign the winger this summer, however any deal will depend on their ability to part ways with a number of their current squad.
He said to Sky Sport Switzerland: “Currently, Chelsea Football Club is clearly in pole position thanks to the relationship with the player’s representative, who already has a real grip on the London club. That said, Chelsea won’t be able to pile up stars indefinitely and will have to part ways with several attacking players before making a move, especially at this price…“

Jude Bellingham a big fan of Jamie Gittens
Gittens has plenty of admirers across European football after breaking through to become one of the most promising wingers in world football.
One key figure who has heaped praise on him at the past is Jude Bellingham, who is another English player who made his name at Borussia Dortmund.
In an interview with TuttoSport, the Real Madrid man tipped Gittens to win the Golden Boy award.
He said: “My old teammate Jamie Bynoe-Gittens from Borussia Dortmund, top talent.”
