Reports have claimed that the higher ups at Chelsea are considering completely changing their mind about one of their current first team players.

According to Caught Offside, decision makers at the club are now weighing up the prospect of offering a new contract to 24-year old Conor Gallagher, seeing him extend his stay at Stamford Bridge.

It was widely expected by many that Gallagher would be on the move away from the club at the end of the season, with it clear to see that value he holds as a homegrown player in the Premier League.

Tottenham are a side who have been credited with interest for him, with it going as far to say that they believe he would be the perfect signing for them in the summer.

This talk has been occurring despite the fact that on the pitch the England international is continuing to prove to be one of the most important players the club have right now.

He has established himself as one of the first names on the teamsheet at the moment, alongside Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo in the middle of the park.

U-turn on Conor Gallagher

It seems he made an instant impact on Mauricio Pochettino, with it being claimed that the manager is a huge fan of his and would be lobbying for him to stay at the club.

Now, it seems reports are indicating he may be about to get his wish, with the owners having a rethink about their strategy.

This will perhaps be impacted by recent viewings of the midfielder, with him seeming to up his game in recent weeks.

He has all discovered his goalscoring touch at last this season, finding the net three times in the last three games including a brace against former side Crystal Palace in the Premier League.
