Chelsea are reportedly ready to bid this summer to sign a player they sold nearly four years ago.
In Chelsea’s history, there are examples of the club re-signing players and bringing them back to Stamford Bridge. The likes of David Luiz, Nemanja Matic and Didier Drogba all left the Blues before coming back for second spells.
When it comes to the upcoming summer transfer window, Chelsea could ‘go big’ on three new signings to strengthen the current squad.
Interestingly, Enzo Maresca’s side are tipped to be in the running to re-sign a former player.

Chelsea ready to bid for Marc Guehi
In 2021, when Thomas Tuchel was the Chelsea manager, the Blues sold Marc Guehi to Crystal Palace in a deal worth £18m (The Guardian).
The 24-year-old defender came through the Chelsea academy as a youngster, but he’s really kicked on with Palace since his move to Selhurst Park. In fact, he’s now a regular England starter on the international stage.

In recent months, the Blues have been heavily linked with a transfer swoop for Guehi.
According to The Sun, Palace manager Oliver Glasner has given his approval to sell Guehi in the summer because it’ll help fund an overhaul of the squad.
It is explained that the English centre-half is ‘certain’ to move clubs at the end of the season.
Apparently, Chelsea, Tottenham and Newcastle United are all prepared to make transfer offers to sign him. Manchester City also admire Marc Guehi as the race for his signature hots up.
It was previously claimed that Crystal Palace could keep Marc Guehi and let him go on a free transfer in 2026, but it sounds like they’ve performed a U-turn on his future.

When you look at some of the individual statistics, there’s not too much to split them.
However, the numbers can’t paint a picture of the type of leadership and authority that Guehi has on a football pitch. It’s an extra bonus that he’s proven himself in the England national side as well.
