Chelsea staff are so excited to see what Christopher Nkunku can do for them once he’s fit.

That is according to well-respected journalist Ben Jacobs.

We’ve not seen Christopher Nkunku, 25, play a single minute yet this season as he recovers from the injury he picked up in the summer.

However, many are hoping that the attacker can be the answer to scoring more goals.

Chelsea officials are confident

Ben Jacobs has reported via GiveMeSport this week that there’s a feeling within Chelsea that Nkunku is their missing piece, and he can be brilliant for them.

In addition, the Blues hierarchy haven’t made a final decision on whether or not they need to sign a new striker in January because of Nkunku’s imminent return.

He’s a versatile forward that can play as a No 9, No 10 or on the wing. It’s worth noting he was working well as a second striker in Mauricio Pochettino’s side during pre-season before his injury setback.

Speaking via Football.London in yesterday’s press conference, Pochettino confirmed that Nkunku still won’t be ready to make his official debut in Wednesday night’s Carabao Cup tie against Blackburn Rovers.

However, speaking via Football.London a week earlier, Pochettino shared Nkunku is doing “really well” with his injury recovery and that he may be involved after November’s international break.

Christopher Nkunku has glittering CV

We’ve seen a great track record of scoring goals doesn’t always guarantee success in Chelsea colours, but it’s better to have a glowing past than not.

The French attacker was a huge success in Germany during four years at Leipzig. He wasn’t playing for either of the Bundesliga super giants Bayern Munich or Borussia Dortmund, but was one of the most devastating forwards in the country.

Nkunku left Leipzig with 70 goals and 56 assists in 172 appearances. He finished his final season with them by scoring 23 goals in 36 games.
