Cole Palmer has been the standout performer for Chelsea since making the move to the capital, and one of his inspirations happens to be a rival player.

Chelsea have had their fair share of criticism for transfers in years gone by, but the signing of Cole Palmer will go down as one of the best.

The Englishman joined from Manchester City for £42.5 million last summer.

Enzo Maresca even shared that he loved the look of Cole Palmer during his time at Manchester City, stating that he makes difficult things look so easy.

Interestingly, the Chelsea boss isn’t the only one who liked the look of a player during his time at Manchester City, as Cole Palmer still looks up to one of his former teammates.

Cole Palmer admits he looks up to Manchester City’s Erling Haaland

Erling Haaland and Cole Palmer played 12 times together at Manchester City but neither of them were ever involved in a goal together.

Both players have gone on to reach new heights since parting ways and are now arguably two of the best in the Premier League at this moment in time.

Despite no goal involvements together, Cole Palmer recently made an interesting admission about the striker.

When speaking on the Premier League YouTube channel,

The presenter asked.

“Are there any players you look up to when it comes to that kind of finish? (The goal against Newcastle).”

Cole Palmer responded.

“Most of the attackers can do it. Erling, obviously he scores every game, doesn’t he.”

Marc Cucurella often caused Chelsea problems on the field last season with some below par performances, and he caused an issue for Palmer off the field recently.

Interestingly, his song that involved Haaland, who joined for £52.1 million, caused a bit of a stir this summer, as Palmer ended up having to apologise onbehalf of Cucurella to smooth things over (as per The Sun).

It didn’t affect Haaland on the field as he got his own back, scoring one of Manchester City’s goals in the 2-0 win at Stamford Bridge.

Cucurella also admitted he didn’t get on with Thiago Silva when he first joined Chelsea, so perhaps he just has a hard time making a good first impression on people.
