Cole Palmer’s form at Chelsea has dipped lately, with the attacking midfielder once again failing to score on Tuesday night.
Chelsea beat Southampton 4-0, but Palmer was unable to find the back of the net, meaning that he has not registered a goal in six games.
However, the 22-year-old is still No.1 at Stamford Bridge. There is no doubt about that when you look at his season overall and what he accomplished last term.
And in the world of music, Palmer also had a relative who was No.1 in the UK back in the 1970s.

Cole Palmer’s great uncle was part of Sweet Sensation
Palmer’s great uncle was one member of Sweet Sensation, who topped the UK singles chart in 1974 with Sad Sweet Dreamer.
Palmer discussed the band in a recent interview with DJ and radio presenter Kenny Allstar, who described them as “music royalty”, music royalty that the England international did not seem to know too much about.
“I didn’t even know that,” Palmer said to Allstar on TNT Sports when informed that his great uncle’s band had a UK number one. “He’s too young there! I can’t even recognise who he is,” the former Manchester City star added after being shown a video of Sweet Sensation performing.
Palmer has linked up with popular Dancehall artist Vybz Kartel before, with Kartel copying his celebration in one of his recent music videos.
It follows the viral video of Palmer doing his own performance of one of Kartel’s songs. It is not just on the pitch, then, that Palmer is proving to be an entertainer!
The stats Cole Palmer is leading in at Chelsea
Back to the football, and when it comes to being the No.1 at Chelsea, Palmer has that spot for both goals and assists.
In the Premier League this season, he has netted 14 times, making him the top scorer in Enzo Maresca‘s squad. Palmer has also registered the most number of assists in the Chelsea dressing room with six.
According to WhoScored, the versatile attacker takes 3.6 shots and makes 2.6 key passes per game, which are the highest averages in the Blues’ ranks, so he comes out on top there as well.
Palmer has made a promise to Chelsea fans, telling them that he will be back amid this dip in form. But after carrying the club for a year and a half, he is allowed to have a little unproductive patch.
