Chelsea are closing in on banking a significant transfer fee from the sale of one player who wasn’t even present at the Club World Cup.
After completing an influx of signings earlier in the transfer window, it appears the priority at Stamford Bridge has shifted to outgoings in the upcoming days.
Deals to sell Noni Madueke and Djordje Petrovic have both already been announced, with the Blues banking a healthy profit on the fees that they paid for them.
Part of the Todd Boehly model has been bringing in young players to get the best out of them for the club, however the upside if they don’t work out as expected is that they will likely make money when they do part ways with him.

Renato Veiga’s Chelsea exit ‘becoming a reality’
This is expected to be the case with Renato Veiga, after playing for Chelsea for just six months before spending the second half of last season on loan at Juventus.
Veiga is disappointed that Chelsea aren’t giving him another chance, especially after he believes he has proven himself in the centre-back position he desires to play.
Atletico Madrid have been strongly linked with a deal for the Portugal international, and now look to be closing in on their fifth signing of the summer.
According to Marca, Veiga’s move has entered the final stages, and barring any late twists is going to go through in the coming days.
It has already been reported that Veiga is open to the move to Atletico, after they failed in their pursuit to sign Cristian Romero.

Chelsea looking at signing Veiga replacement
Despite Veiga wanting to play centre-back, Chelsea originally signed him as a left-back to provide cover and competition for Marc Cucurella.
The Spaniard doesn’t have any recognised alternative to him in the left-back role, and this is something the club are looking to address.
Chelsea are the most advanced in the race to sign Jorrel Hato, who has established himself as one of the top young defenders in world football.
The Blues have been interested in him for some time, however face competition from Arsenal and Liverpool for his signature.
