Chris Sutton has made his score prediction ahead of Chelsea against Sheffield United this weekend.

Chelsea host Sheffield United this Saturday afternoon for a Premier League clash at Stamford Bridge.

Mauricio Pochettino’s Blues side have three defeats in their previous four league matches, so it feels vital that they respond with three points against the team bottom of the table.

Score prediction

BBC pundit Chris Sutton is tipping Chelsea to come out of their slump with a home win versus Sheffield United in tomorrow’s game.

“Blues boss Mauricio Pochettino came out and said he wanted some new players after they lost to Everton last week – which is pretty amazing when you consider Chelsea’s spending spree last summer – and it does not appear things are going to settle down at Stamford Bridge anytime soon,” Sutton wrote for BBC Sport.

“I am still going to go with them to win [against Sheffield United], because they are at home to the bottom side in the Premier League who have struggled on the road, but you can probably tell I am not exactly confident that is what will happen.

“Sutton’s prediction: 2-0.”

Elsewhere, speaking via Sportskeeda this week, Paul Merson has also predicted a Chelsea win over Sheffield United.

Chelsea vs Sheffield United

Chelsea will be hoping they can extend a run of three consecutive wins over Sheffield United.

The return of Chris Wilder to the manager’s dugout has certainly boosted tomorrow’s visitors, who do remain five points from safety in the league table.

Sheffield United are the division’s lowest scorers with 12 goals from 16 games, so the Chelsea defence should be eyeing a return to form and a clean sheet.

One slight concern is that Pochettino’s rotated quite a lot with his back four this campaign, sometimes through design and sometimes because of injuries. We’d love to see a more settled Blues defence for this important run of festive fixtures, which includes league matches and a Carabao Cup quarter-final against Newcastle United next week.
