Mauricio Pochettino has now been full of praise for Chelsea player Cole Palmer ahead of his first game against his former side on Sunday.
He claimed in his pre-match press conference that while he still needs to improve, he is delighted with his ability to adapt quickly to his new surroundings.
Palmer has arguably been Chelsea’s best performer of the season since his deadline day move from Manchester City.

He has established himself as the regular penalty taker at Stamford Bridge, which is a great responsibility for a player who is just 21.
This has seen him score three goals for his new club, creating a host more goals for his teammates.
The England U21 international has been undroppable for Pochettino ever since he made the decision to start him for the first time, and now he is looking ahead to facing the team that didn’t see a future with him in their ranks.
Pochettino praises Palmer
Pochettino has claimed that he and his coaching staff are very happy with how he has got going at Stamford Bridge.
He said: “He is a clever guy that has adapted really quickly. He has shown chracter, personality and good performances. He still needs to improve, but we are very happy with him and it’s special for him to play against a former club.”
After running the show against Spurs, it is easy to imagine things going through Palmer again at the weekend against the current treble champions.
Chances are likely to be at a premium against Pep Guardiola’s side, and therefore there will be a lot of expectation on the 21-year-old to provide some magic where Chelsea need.
Based on his displays so far, you wouldn’t bet against the attacking midfielder doing just that.
