Cole Palmer has now given his response as to whether he thinks Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino is actually better than Pep Guardiola.

He told the Mail Online that he was simply not willing to answer the question, instead moving the press conference along.

Palmer is currently enjoying life as a senior England player, after getting the call-up off the back of a number of key players pulling out of the squad.

However, it would be untrue to say that he has not earned his place in the squad. The 21-year-old has been one of the best performers in the Premier League in recent weeks.

He nicely summed up his recent form with his standout display against Manchester City, the side who let him move to Stamford Bridge on deadline day.

Palmer should composure in the final moments to convert a penalty to make it 4-4, rescuing a point for a side who perhaps deserved even more.

Palmer answers Pochettino vs Guardiola

In the very early stages of his career, he has had the pleasure of playing for two elite managers in Guardiola and Pochettino.

Perhaps predictably, it didn’t take long for a question to come in to the player trying to compare the two.

However, when asked, he simply shrugged and said: “Next question.”

He did later go on to add: “Obviously you know how good a manager Pep is and he gave me the platform to kickstart my career so I’ll always be grateful to him. I saw him after Sunday’s game and he said, ‘Well done’.

‘Who knows what would have happened if I had stayed. Maybe I would have played more, maybe not. But I think the decision to go to Chelsea is paying off so far.”

With some appealing fixtures coming up in the next few days for the Three Lions, we could be set to see the rise of Palmer continue with his England debut.
