ESPN pundit Craig Burley has been discussing Moises Caicedo following Chelsea’s 6-2 win against Wolverhampton Wanderers over the weekend.
Enzo Maresca‘s men really impressed, with Noni Madueke able to score a hat-trick and Cole Palmer managing to register three assists.
The England international also grabbed a goal for himself, and another ESPN pundit, Janusz Michallik, loved how Palmer was used at Molineux.
Burley, however, was not too impressed with Caicedo at times, feeling that the midfielder was partly to blame for the first goal Chelsea conceded.

Craig Burley on where Moises Caicedo needs to improve
Former Chelsea player Burley did not have too many complaints about his old side’s performance against Wolves on Sunday.
However, he did highlight Caicedo and what he deems as a tendency for the 22-year-old to get caught in possession.
Speaking about him on ESPN after Chelsea’s win at Molineux, Burley said: “They still have some issues. I mean, Caicedo gets caught on the ball now and again and sometimes he’s a bit rash. He got caught on the ball, I think, for the first goal.”
Burley should not expect Caicedo to be dropped any time soon, though. Maresca has already stated that he loves Caicedo and allowed him to captain the team in the Conference League last Thursday.
Moises Caicedo’s biggest strength
Caicedo may not be the most gifted midfielder on the ball, but when it comes to winning it back, the Ecuadorian can be exceptional at times. It is undoubtedly his best attribute.
As per FBref, he has ranked in the 87th percentile for tackles made among midfielders over the last year.
Of course, after spending well over £100m on him, people will want Caicedo to be a more complete midfielder.
Still just 22, the Ecuador international has time to develop into that. But pundits, such as Burley, giving him time to seems unlikely.
But that is understandable because again, after the amount of money that Chelsea spent on him, expectations have to be high.
Caicedo needs to improve and help Chelsea to continue winning, with their next Premier League game being against Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
