Former Premier League striker Darren Bent has heaped praise on Moises Caicedo following Chelsea’s 3-0 win against Paris Saint-Germain in the Club World Cup final.

Caicedo started in the victory over Luis Enrique’s side and put in another terrific shift to help Chelsea earn more silverware.

Caicedo caught Roberto Martinez’s attention in the previous rounds, with the Portugal manager describing his performance against Benfica in the last 16 as “exceptional”.

And now Bent has had some very positive things to say about the Ecuadorian midfielder.

Darren Bent on Moises Caicedo’s passing

Caicedo is renowned for his tackling and ability to regain possession, but Bent is also a fan of his passing.

Discussing the 23-year-old on talkSPORT following Chelsea’s win against PSG, he said: “Caicedo in the middle of the park, he’s got everything. His range of passing is scary, he breaks up play and do you know what I like about him as well? He’s a little bit nasty. He leaves his foot in and then he likes getting in players’ faces as well. I quite like that.”

Before the Blues’ triumph over the European champions, Willian spoke about Caicedo, stating that he would have loved to have played alongside him.

Chelsea are blessed with quality midfielders, with Enzo Maresca also possessing Enzo Fernandez and Romeo Lavia.

The Italian has Andrey Santos as well, who came on in the Club World Cup final against PSG. There is no doubt, though, that Caicedo is the team’s standout midfielder.

John Obi Mikel also a huge fan of Moises Caicedo

John Obi Mikel thinks Chelsea have a “great midfield”, putting that down to Caicedo, Fernandez and Cole Palmer, who plays further forward in the No.10 position.

When Mikel spoke about Chelsea ahead of the PSG game, he said: “We (Chelsea) have a great midfield now. Fernandez, Caicedo, and of course Cole Palmer who plays as a No.10.”

While Caicedo certainly did his part in the final, Maresca’s side won the match because of Palmer’s brilliance.

The attacking midfielder scored Chelsea’s first two goals before setting up their third. It was Joao Pedro who made it 3-0, with the Brazilian making an instant impact following his arrival from Brighton & Hove Albion.

Palmer has been helping Pedro out in training, which seems to have really benefited him in his first few games for the club. With the quality that Pedro, Palmer and Caicedo all possess, Chelsea will be expected to challenge for the Premier League title in the near future.
