Darren Bent has identified three things that Mauricio Pochettino needs to do at Chelsea this summer following his appointment as the club’s new head coach.
Chelsea fans now know Mauricio Pochettino will be in the manager’s dugout next season at Stamford Bridge, with the club confirming the news earlier this week.
The 51-year-old Argentine is returning to work in England for the first time since leaving Tottenham in 2019.
However, he should now be back as a more polished coach, and he did win silverware in charge at his previous club, Paris Saint-Germain.
Let’s hope he can work some magic next season on a Blues group that massively underperformed this year.

TalkSPORT pundit Bent has explained the main issues Pochettino needs to resolve upon his arrival.
He insists the new manager has to be ruthless and should some character. In addition, Chelsea need to trim their own squad and make the crucial signing of a new centre-forward.
When asked the three things Pochettino needs to do at Chelsea, Bent told talkSPORT: “The first thing is that he’s got to be ruthless. I think that’s really important. He can’t go into that squad and be a yes-man.
“Second thing, he’s got to trim the squad. They’ve got way too many players, and there’s so much money they can generate.
“And the number one priority for Chelsea is to get a striker. If they’re going to bring back [Romelu] Lukaku and he’s going to play, get the best out of him. If he’s not the answer, sell him and bring in someone you do want. They don’t need someone posing like Kai Havertz as a centre-forward; they need a centre-forward.”

We fully agree that the signing of a No 9 is essential, and we suspect every fan would agree.
Pochettino has worked with some top centre-forwards already in his career, but he’s walking into a Blues dressing room that doesn’t possess that right.
Romelu Lukaku is a proven goalscocorer and he’s due back at Chelsea this summer after his Inter Milan loan spell is done, but we’re not sure if there’s a way back for him at Stamford Bridge.
Journalist Rudy Galetti told GiveMeSport that 21-year-old Chelsea striker Armando Broja is likely to be loaned out next season. This would only crank up the pressure to get a new frontman.
