Danny Mills thinks Leeds United star Raphinha would be an upgrade at Stamford Bridge on current Chelsea attackers Christian Pulisic and Timo Werner.

For Chelsea, it looks like their summer transfer window is finally starting to kick into gear.

It’s been reported the Blues have agreed a fee of around £60/65million to sign Leeds winger Raphinha. They’re now in ongoing talks with the 25-year-old trying to tempt him to the Bridge next season.

He’s dazzled at Elland Road during two years in English football, so it’s no surprise to see him mooted with a big transfer.

Raphinha upgrade on Pulisic and Werner

TalkSPORT pundit Mills firmly believes that Raphinha would improve the Chelsea line-up if they convince him to join.

In particular, he reckons the Brazil international would be an improvement on Blues duo Pulisic and Werner.

“Is he better than Pulisic? Yes. Is he better than Werner? Yes,” Mills told talkSPORT.

“He goes in there and he’s definitely got one of those two [starting] places up front. You’ve got two wide players that are not definite.”

Pulisic, 23, is a Chelsea winger that’s a nightmare for defenders on his day, but he’s still struggling with inconsistency. He’s also linked with a potential summer exit, as the Blues are reportedly prepared to offer him in a swap deal to sign Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt.

Meanwhile, it’s previously been claimed that 26-year-old forward Werner, along with Pulisic, would consider leaving Chelsea this summer if the right opportunity came around.

It’s going to be intriguing to see if Blues manager Thomas Tuchel can find a preferred frontline next year, which would be a contrast to last season when he regularly tinkered with the attacking combination.
