Enzo Fernandez’s position has been a hot topic of debate ever since he joined Chelsea, and his agent, Javier Pastore, has suggested he wasn’t being used to his strengths by Liam Rosenior.
Fernandez’s future is currently up in the air after recent comments made it clear he had an admiration for the city of Madrid.
Chelsea are expected to enter talks with Fernandez over a new deal at the end of the season, after already securing the futures of Moises Caicedo and Reece James.

The World Cup winner proved his importance to the side yet again in the FA Cup semi-final against Leeds, popping up in the penalty area to score the only goal of the game.
Pastore has told AS that he believes his goal and assist numbers lean into him playing a more attacking position, somewhere he doesn’t think Rosenior was using him.
He said: “He’s played in several positions. Over the past two years, his role has changed quite a lot. Under Enzo Maresca, he played much further forward. With Liam Rosenior, he operated more as a holding midfielder.
“For the Argentine national team, he’s also been used as a more advanced number 8, getting forward and contributing goals. He’s had two seasons with plenty of assists and goals, so it’s natural that coaches see him as more attacking than defensive. That said, he’s a player who can comfortably perform in both roles.”
Fernandez started off in fine form under Rosenior, contributing to goals in five of his first six games in charge.
However, the Englishman’s final game was the second of a two-game ban inflicted on the midfielder by the manager for his conduct during the international break.

Fernandez’s demands to remain at Chelsea
The Chelsea fans serenaded Fernandez at Wembley after their FA Cup semi-final victory, and despite rumours swirling about a move away, an exit is by no means a certainty now.
Fernandez reportedly has a list of demands before he puts pen to paper on a new deal. This includes an increased salary and the club bringing in some more experienced players.
Behdad Eghbali has hinted the club are learning from their mistakes in previous transfer windows, and they are expected to bring more experience into the club.
They will not be able to add anyone for the FA Cup final though, and instead all eyes will be on Fernandez to provide another clutch moment,
