Chelsea are back competing in the Conference League group stages on Thursday night against Armenian club FC Noah, so will there be any opportunities handed out to some young players?

The Chelsea academy continues to help produce super talents year on year. However, it’s becoming increasingly more difficult to break into the highly competitive Blues squad at Stamford Bridge.

Todd Boehly is a huge supporter of the Chelsea academy and its importance, which is how most of the club’s fanbase will equally feel.

There’s been a number of youngsters drafted up from the academy to the senior group by Enzo Maresca at various stages of this season. It looks like that trend will continue this week, too.

Tyrique George and Sam Rak-Sakyi with Chelsea’s first-team squad

During his pre-match press conference for the Noah match, Maresca confirmed that Chelsea youngsters Tyrique George and Sam Rak-Sakyi are both with the senior group this week.

Maresca was asked if any academy players will train with Chelsea’s first team on Wednesday and could be in the squad for tomorrow’s game. He responded via Chelsea’s YouTube channel: “Tyrique, for sure. Sam Rak-Sakyi, too. We will see.”

Two exciting Chelsea talents get chance to impress Enzo Maresca

First of all, George is a young prospect that will be familiar to plenty of supporters by now. The 18-year-old winger has played four first-team career games, which have all come under Maresca’s watch this season.

Chelsea star Noni Madueke recently claimed everyone needs to watch out for George. Elsewhere, Romeo Lavia described Chelsea’s rising talent George as a “starboy”.

The English attacker has come off the bench in the last two Conference League games this season, so it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him feature against Noah.

Meanwhile, Rak-Sakyi, 19, is a defensive midfielder who’s still waiting to make his senior debut. He was an unused substitute versus Panathinaikos last month, but perhaps tomorrow night can be his moment to play for the first team.

It’ll be great to see plenty of Chelsea prospects follow the likes of Reece James and Levi Colwill by going from the academy at Cobham to the main group.
