Jadon Sancho has been able to use this international break to adapt to his new surroundings at Chelsea and to work under new head coach Enzo Maresca.
Chelsea surprised many people when they signed Jadon Sancho, 24, in the final hours of the summer transfer window. He’s arrived on a season-long loan from Manchester United, which includes an obligation to buy.
The English winger will hope he makes his Blues debut tomorrow night when the team travels to Bournemouth in the Premier League. It’s interesting that Chelsea fans are desperate for Sancho to start versus Bournemouth.
It’s usually tough in the returning fixture after the international break, so will Enzo Maresca call upon the stars he’s been working with at Cobham in the last two weeks?

Enzo Maresca verdict on Jadon Sancho
Chelsea boss Maresca has been extremely positive about new signing Sancho after working with him over the international period. In particular, he’s noticed that the skilful wide player has a lot of ability one-v-one against defenders.
When asked about Sancho, Maresca said via Chelsea’s official website: “He has been exactly what I expected.
“He’s a very good player, a one-v-one player with quality in the last third. I’m sure he’s going to help us.”
Time for Jadon Sancho to put things right
Unfortunately, Sancho has enjoyed nowhere near the same kind of success in England compared to his time in Germany earlier in his career. Let’s hope that Chelsea is the place where he can finally shine in the Premier League.
| Division | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
| Premier League | 58 | 9 | 6 |
| Bundesliga | 118 | 40 | 54 |
On paper, Sancho should be a great fit for Maresca’s system on the football pitch. The Chelsea coach relies heavily on his wingers to keep the width and to dribble at opposition players.
We do feel like the 24-year-old attacker needs to get off to a quick start at Stamford Bridge because there’s a lot of eyes on his stuttering career.
