Chelsea take on Gent in the Conference League on Thursday, and Enzo Maresca has a warning for one of his players.
It is an opportunity for some of Chelsea‘s fringe players to get some game time, with Enzo Maresca‘s line-up in the Premier League being pretty consistent so far this season.
The 44-year-old, though, has made it clear that he expects to see good performances on the pitch, so the Blues cannot take this game easy.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea players are very happy with Maresca at the moment.

Enzo Maresca fires warning to Filip Jorgensen
As Chelsea’s cup goalkeeper, Filip Jorgensen will be expected to start against Gent on Thursday.
He will be hoping to put some pressure on Robert Sanchez, especially after the 26-year-old’s horror show in Chelsea’s 4-2 win versus Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend.
Maresca, however, has warned Jorgensen that he needs to perform regardless of Sanchez’s form.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference (via football.london), the Italian said: “Filip has to do well because we need him doing well, not because he needs to put pressure on Robert.
“Robert’s mistake, the mistake started with Malo [Gusto]; we conceded a chance and then from the goalkeeper we conceded a goal. This kind of things happen.”
Sanchez has been heavily criticised since the Brighton game, where he made two costly errors.
Filip Jorgensen fighting losing battle for now
Whether Jorgensen has a good game against Gent or not, Sanchez is almost certain to continue as Chelsea’s first-choice goalkeeper.
His manager is set on him, with Maresca confirming in August that Sanchez is his man for the position between the sticks.
Despite his two mistakes last weekend, it does not look like the Spaniard is going anywhere. It is bad news for Jorgensen, who joined Chelsea from Villarreal in a deal worth around £20m.
That being said, it is a long season. If Sanchez keeps costing Chelsea goals, then Maresca is going to have to eventually consider making a change.
The Chelsea boss is not at that stage with the former Brighton man yet, though, meaning that Jorgensen will have to be satisfied with his deputy role.
