Fabrizio Romano has given an update on the future of Mauricio Pochettino as Chelsea manager.
He took to YouTube to state that the owners and directors are currently having no discussions over his future despite the recent defeat to Manchester United.
Pochettino looked perplexed and defeated as apposed to angry on Wednesday night when the Blues were beaten 2-1 at Old Trafford.
Cole Palmer’s sensational goal was a moment of quality that did not match the rest of the evening, with the Blues soundly beaten.
A number of poor individual performances will have frustrated the manager, after he saw some spirited displays with 10 men just a few days earlier.
Results of that manner will always raise questions in the fanbase as to whether the person in the hotseat could do more to affect things.
Pochettino safe for now
Romano has now claimed that the owners are looking at some of the players who have not been available for him so far that have held the manager back from his best results.
He said: “Chelsea owners, directors still trust Mauricio Pochettino, no discussions over his future, they wait for a fantastic player like Nkunku to be back, also to have players like Chilwell, Broja, and Lavia to give Poch chances to change the situation.”
There is reported hope that Christopher Nkunku could be involved at last in the coming days, with an optimism that he may be in the squad to face Everton this weekend.
Returning to winning ways is imperative for the Blues, with fixtures on paper getting a bit easier in the next few weeks.
Some poor results in that time could really ramp the pressure up on Pochettino just months after he took the job at Chelsea.
