Levi Colwill the first name in Chelsea’s defence

We’d put Colwill as the number one starter in Chelsea’s backline right now.

The left-footed centre-back has played every minute of the league season so far and looks really confident in Enzo Maresca’s system.

While the England international did a job at times last season covering at left-back, he’s definitely an out-and-out central defender with a big future ahead of him in the heart of defence.

Speaking recently via Chelsea’s official website, Colwill credited Maresca for his recent form on the pitch. We’re not surprised to see the 21-year-old thriving this year because he’s a ball-playing central defender that can build from the back exactly like the manager demands.

Chelsea boss Maresca has described Colwill as a “fantastic profile”, as relayed by Chelsea’s YouTube channel.

He’s been included again in England’s senior squad on Tuesday for the upcoming October international break. His next aim should be to force his way into the Three Lions XI.
