Frank Leboeuf has delivered a pretty damning verdict when it comes to two of Chelsea’s summer signings.
It was another busy summer transfer window for Chelsea, where they had another huge turnover of the squad with plenty of incomings and outgoings.
In terms of new faces, the current Blues squad is filled with several fresh additions. Let’s hope head coach Enzo Maresca can get them all gelling together as quickly as possible.
Chelsea were unable to add another centre-forward to the squad despite plenty of transfer speculation in the final days of the summer window. In fact, Chelsea spoke to Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran as well as Victor Osimhen on a hectic deadline day.

Frank Leboeuf rips into Jadon Sancho and Joao Felix deals
ESPN pundit Frank Leboeuf has delivered a pretty harsh assessment when discussing Chelsea signing both Jadon Sancho and Joao Felix in the summer.
Sancho, 24, is a talented left-winger who joined from Manchester United on loan with an obligation to buy. He’s certainly got a point to prove after a tough time at Old Trafford, but the former Borussia Dortmund attacker has shown his potential in the past.
As for Felix, the 24-year-old’s returned to Chelsea on a permanent basis after a previous loan. The attacking playmaker is another struggling for consistency in recent years. He’s got obvious individual talent, though, plus he scored a stunning goal last month in the Premier League versus Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Leboeuf told ESPN: “Sancho and Felix, I’m not sure many clubs wanted them. And surprisingly, it’s only Chelsea who got them. That’s insane. Joao Felix until 2031. How come? We have seen him playing. I don’t need data for that. I don’t understand half of the signings that we see. Those people are just ruining Chelsea Football Club.”
Chelsea pair can prove the doubters wrong
Sancho and Felix are two high-profile footballers whose reputations have taken a bit of a battering in recent times. But if it clicks for the forward pair, moving to Chelsea could be a masterstroke for both of them.
It’s a huge benefit that the Blues are in domestic and European competitions this term, so we’re predicting plenty of rotation and opportunities in the squad.
For Sancho, the Englishman should be eyeing up a spot on Chelsea’s left-wing. It’s very encouraging that journalist Simon Phillips reports that Maresca has already been impressed by Sancho in training.
Meanwhile, Felix is a great utility option that can play numerous attacking positions. The intelligent dribbler was a fan favourite during his loan spell with the Blues, so let’s hope he can repeat some of that magic again.
