Chelsea forward Kai Havertz has admitted that his teammates call him a donkey.
The 23-year-old told The Guardian that the nickname is not football related, but instead is to do with his affection for the actual animal.
Things have begun to look up for Havertz recently at Stamford Bridge. He scored in three consecutive games before club football was put on pause due to the international break.

Fortunes weren’t quite as bright when it came to representing his country. The attacker missed a penalty before leaving the camp due to illness.
Chelsea will be hoping that he is fit and ready to go for this weekend’s Premier League clash with Aston Villa. Defeat would see the Blues drop into the bottom half of the table.
Havertz’s teammates call him a donkey
Havertz has spoken about the relationship he has with his teammates, and more specifically with wildlife, discussing how he has a special relationship with donkeys.
He said: “Some of my teammates call me Donkey. It’s not because of my football, from day one, I felt a special relationship with donkeys. It’s a very calm animal: maybe I personalised myself in them because I’m calm too. They chill all day, don’t do much, just want to live their life.

“I loved them always. And when I lost, I would go to the sanctuary. You look at the animals, see something human in them. It was a kind of recovery, a place I felt peace.”
The German has begun to form a strong relationship with Joao Felix, with the duo becoming regulars in the Chelsea front three.
He has allowed the Portugal international to feature in a more free role, where he is responsible for starting attacks anywhere on the pitch, leaving Havertz with the responsibility of finishing them off.
