For a solid seven years, Chelsea had one of the most solid and consistent defenders in the Premier League at their disposal.
Gary Cahill is well-regarded for his time at Stamford Bridge, with him being a crucial part of two league campaigns and a Champions League victory.
Cahill has frequently had his say on the current situation at the club. The Englishman was impressed as to how Christopher Nkunku scored their only goal in the victory over Bournemouth.
The central defender played under multiple managers during his time in West London, with the likes of Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte heavily relying on the eventual club captain.
Another manager he worked under was Maurizio Sarri, however he found himself picking up limited minutes in the Italian’s only season in charge.

Cahill hated playing under Maurizio Sarri at Chelsea
Cahill has claimed that he was really not a fan of the style of football Sarri brought to the club.
He told the ‘Obi One Podcast’: “It was all tactical. What was Sarriball? I played it and I still don’t know what it is.
“He didn’t play me so – it was very standstill. He was a very superstitious manager. We would practice a centre, the ball being played back to the centre-back who would put a foot on it, and smash a diagonal.
“The restart of a game for example. We’d do that every Friday. You’re talking full on international players. That only needs one session, doesn’t it? It blew my mind.”
Strong start for Maresca at Chelsea
The Blues have maintained their mantra of replacing managers frequently in the time that the new owners have been in charge of the club.
They will now be hoping they have found the man to take them into the future in the form of Enzo Maresca, with him off to a promising start to life at Stamford Bridge.
Their current centre-backs are also forming somewhat of a partnership, with Wesley Fofana and Levi Colwill starting every Premier League this season.
Cahill has previously mentioned how impressed with Maresca’s training he has been already, with the sessions being described as hands on during pre-season.
