Pundit Gary Lineker has now shared what he noticed about Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino at full-time of Chelsea’s pulsating 4-4 draw with Manchester City.
He told ‘The Rest is Football’ podcast that he noticed the manager was absolutely seething that the Blues had not been allowed to attack before the game was brought to an end.
Pochettino has already claimed he was super proud of his players following their performance in yesterday’s game against the treble winners.
It was another example of Chelsea saving their best football to face a big side in the Premier League, with a number of individuals registering superb performances.
Raheem Sterling and Cole Palmer both had an added hunger playing against a former side, with them arguably the two standout players on the pitch for either side.
It was the 21-year-old who had the final say in proceedings, converting from the penalty spot in added time to level the game up.
Pochettino at full-time
It looked as if a counter attack was on again for the Blues, before the referee brought proceedings to an end.
Lineker has claimed he noticed Pochettino fuming, however he quickly shifted when he saw Palmer after the game.
He said: “At the final whistle, I don’t know if you noticed, Mauricio was very, very angry. He was charging across the pitch, he clearly wanted the attack to finish that was in progress. He was raging.
“And then he saw Cole Palmer, gave him a big hug and then he was all grinning and smiles. It was the quickest change of mode I have ever seen at the end of the game!”
The manager has already come out with a lot of praise for the attacking midfielder, who has made himself undroppable under the Argentine this season since breaking through.
