Romeo Lavia is already raving about Mauricio Pochettino after completing his move to Chelsea on Friday morning.
Chelsea confirmed earlier today that Romeo Lavia, 19, has joined Chelsea from Southampton and signed a seven-year deal at Stamford Bridge.
The Belgian midfielder became the newest high-profile signing at the club during this summer transfer window.
Mauricio Pochettino, who kickstarted his reign as Blues head coach with a 1-1 draw against Liverpool, is in charge of a super talented young squad.

Speaking in his first interview since joining Chelsea, Lavia has immediately praised the quality of his new manager.
The 19-year-old talent appears very excited about the prospect of working with him.
“First of all, Mauricio Pochettino is a great manager,” Lavia told the club’s official website.
“I think we all know what he’s done before, and when I spoke to him, it was pretty clear on what he wanted and the direction he wanted the team to go, so I was really pleased to hear what he wanted, and his energy was something that matched mine.
“I’m really excited to start working with him.”

Well-respected journalist Simon Phillips recently reported on his Substack that Lavia’s conversation with Pochettino was a big reason behind him deciding to join Chelsea.
The young defensive midfielder is walking into a squad where he’ll find plenty of competition for places in the centre of the park. We saw last season in Southampton colours he’s good enough to make a great impact in the Premier League already, though.
There’s a great track record when it comes to Pochettino helping and improving rising stars, so we’re not surprised to many want to work under him in west London.
Chelsea’s midfield is now looking super stacked with the addition of Lavia!
