Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has no problem with his assistant Jesus Perez being fined.
Jesus Perez was sent off in Chelsea’s 2-0 defeat to Brentford over the weekend after he went into the Bees’ technical area.
And Mauricio Pochettino, speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of the Blues’ Carabao Cup tie against Blackburn Rovers tomorrow, thinks his No.2 deserves his punishment.
While Perez has been fined, he will be allowed in the Chelsea dugout when his club welcome Jon Dahl Tomasson’s side on Wednesday evening.

In his presser ahead of the Blackburn game, which was broadcasted by Chelsea’s official X account, Pochettino said: “He is available for tomorrow and he deserves to be fined, to be punished, because he broke the rules. You cannot go to the next. I need to apologise for the coaching staff because you cannot go to the area, the Brentford area.
“He knows he made a mistake but being fair he wanted to win, to help the team and get the ball back and start the play. The attitude of Jesus, I think I want this type of behaviour, but he forget. I think it was a new rule. If you go to the other area you are sent off.”
Chelsea have lacked discipline this season
Perez is not the only man at Chelsea who has got himself into a bit of trouble in the current campaign.
Nicolas Jackson was handed a one-match ban after picking up five yellow cards, while Malo Gusto had to sit out for three matches following his red against Aston Villa last month.
It is one of many problems that Pochettino has had to contend with this term. Injuries, though, have been his biggest issue.
The Argentine is currently without so many of his first-team players, including Ben Chilwell, Romeo Lavia and Wesley Fofana.
The good news is Christopher Nkunku, who has not even kicked a ball this season yet, could be back after the international break.
Hopefully his return will be able to make the difference for Chelsea. The Frenchman is a goalscorer, something that the Blues have lacked so far.
He scored 35 times for RB Leipzig back in the 2021/22 campaign. Where would Pochettino’s side be now with that kind of firepower? Probably not 11th place.
As the season goes on, hopefully these injury and disciplinary issues go away, as they are really not helping the team.
