Chelsea bounced back from their Carabao Cup final defeat to Liverpool with a win against Leeds United in the FA Cup.

Since then, they have also gone on to earn a point away at Brentford in the Premier League.

However, Mark Chapman is still worried about Mauricio Pochettino and thinks that loss to Liverpool may have taken a lot out of him. Chapman was speaking on The Monday Night Club.

Following that defeat and Chelsea‘s fall into the bottom half of the Premier League table, Pochettino’s job at Stamford Bridge looks far from safe.

Chris Sutton, though, thinks the Blues need to persist with the Argentine.

Mauricio Pochettino a “broken man” after Carabao Cup final defeat

Chapman has claimed that Pochettino looked like a broken man at Wembley after watching his side lose to Liverpool deep into extra time.

On the 52-year-old, he said: “I wonder how much last week’s defeat will take out of him because we always look at it from a player’s point of view and this, that and the other. As I’ve talked about to other people, he looked a broken man last Sunday.”

Mauricio Pochettino has no reason to be happy right now

Pochettino had to be devastated after Chelsea lost the League Cup final in the manner that they did.

The Blues were not great in their FA Cup victory over Leeds afterwards, just about managing to beat Daniel Farke’s side 3-2, and dropped two points against Brentford after initially taking the lead in the west London derby.

Not being able to defeat the Bees, Chelsea remain 11th in the table. If Pochettino was jumping for joy right now, it would be a huge concern.

There is no dressing it up; this has been a horrid campaign for Chelsea and Pochettino. The former Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham Hotspur boss has another year on his contract. If he gets into it, he has to do a much better job than what he is currently doing now.
