Match of the Day pundit Danny Murphy has claimed that Mason Mount put on a far better performance in the victory against Crystal Palace yesterday.
The Blues snapped their winless run with a 1-0 victory against their London rivals thanks to a Kai Havertz header.
Mount lined up in a young midfield alongside Conor Gallgher and Carney Chukwuemeka, anchored by captain on the day Jorginho.

The selection of players seemed to work well together, as they enjoyed a rare game in recent memory where they dominated the ball from the outset.
This season has for sure been the 24-year-old’s weakest since breaking into the Chelsea first team, as the Blues sit outside the European places.
However, Murphy has claimed that his performance yesterday could be a sign of being given a new freedom in the side by manager Graham Potter.
Murphy praises Mount
He said: “Mount looked freer today. He looked to have more licence to go and impact the game, more confidence. You see him there switch positions with Gallagher there. A little cleverer in the final third at times they could’ve had more goals.
The England international hadn’t scored this season until the manager change, although his importance to the side was clear to see in his first few games in charge.

With a new-look attack on its way at Stamford Bridge, places in the side could become a lot harder to come by.
Yesterday saw the announcement of Mykhailo Mudryk as a Chelsea player, as the Blues pipped Arsenal to the big money deal.
With Joao Felix already showing signs of promise before his red card, there is perhaps some cautious optimism about the future at the club, even if this season already looks like a bit of a write off.
