How Thomas Tuchel really feels about Chelsea sacking amid talk of possible return

Chelsea sacked Thomas Tuchel in 2022, but there has been talk about the German potentially returning to west London amid Mauricio Pochettino’s struggles.

Thomas Tuchel will leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season and it has now been claimed that he would be interested in rejoining Chelsea.

After winning the Champions League in 2021, the 50-year-old has fond memories at Stamford Bridge. However, journalist Ben Jacobs has claimed in his column for Si Phillips Talks Chelsea that he still feels hurt by his Chelsea exit.

With the season the Blues are having, Pochettino could suffer the same fate as Tuchel, but a sacking does not seem imminent.

The Argentine just guided his side to a 3-2 win against Newcastle United and can take them to the FA Cup semi-finals with victory over Leicester City on Sunday. Pochettino is still showing passion on the touchline, losing it with Nicolas Jackson during one moment in yesterday’s match versus Eddie Howe’s team.

Thomas Tuchel still hurt by Chelsea exit

It will not be easy for Tuchel to forget his sacking at Chelsea. He had a lot of success there, a good relationship with supporters who fell in love with him after the club’s Champions League triumph in Porto and was not having the worst season when he was dismissed.

Yes, the Blues were not flying under him at that point, but they were still sixth in the Premier League table. They have not been anywhere near there since.

It suggests there was a bit of politics behind Tuchel’s dismissal, making a return to Stamford Bridge seem highly unlikely.

And for now, Pochettino remains in a job anyway. If Chelsea can finish the season strongly, then the owners will probably let the former Tottenham Hotspur boss enter the second year of his contract. They have been very patient with him so far after all.
