Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali have invested a lot of money into Chelsea’s squad since becoming the club’s owners.
They have broken Chelsea‘s transfer record twice, signing Enzo Fernandez for £107m and Moises Caicedo for £115m in the same year.
Despite that, the Blues have really struggled in the Premier League at times, currently finding themselves outside of the top four.

Enzo Maresca has been criticised following Chelsea’s dip in form, but it looks like Boehly believes the Italian is not being helped by the make-up of his squad, even after all of the investment that has gone into it.

Todd Boehly wants to see more experience in Chelsea squad
Chelsea’s transfer strategy has changed since the arrival of Boehly and Eghbali‘s Clearlake Capital.
Under them, the club have recruited a lot of young players and now have a very young squad as a result.
According to journalist Simon Phillips, though, Boehly believes there should be a mix of youth and experience in the Chelsea dressing room.
On his Substack Si Phillips Talks Chelsea, he wrote: “I am not saying Boehly disagrees with the whole Clearlake way of operating by the way — he actually agrees with a lot of it. What I have heard is that he simply feels the squad should have more balance of youth and experience.”
Not happy with the Clearlake side of the ownership, Chelsea fans are keen to see Boehly take control of the club.

Chelsea fans will agree with Todd Boehly
Chelsea supporters once had a team filled with international captains, the likes of John Terry, Michael Ballack, Didier Drogba and Petr Cech.
That experience played a huge role in the club’s success during the Roman Abramovich era. The Blues practically had a team that could coach and manage itself.
Chelsea fans, then, will know that Maresca‘s current side needs more seasoned footballers in it if success is to be brought back to Stamford Bridge.
It does not mean that the club should not go out and buy young players. Chelsea are currently targeting Liam Delap and the Ipswich Town striker looks like he could be a good signing for them. The 22-year-old is big, strong and has shown that he can score goals in the Premier League this season.
However, there needs to be a balance between youth and experience, something that this Chelsea squad is severely lacking.
