Chelsea were interested in signing Victor Osimhen from Napoli in the last transfer window.

It was reported that Victor Osimhen ended up turning down Chelsea before deciding to join Galatasaray on loan.

Thanks to Nicolas Jackson, the Blues have got on just fine without the striker. In 16 Premier League appearances this season, Jackson has scored nine goals, helping his side to climb to second in the Premier League table.

But how is Osimhen getting on after deciding to reject a move to Stamford Bridge at the end of the summer transfer window?

Galatasaray will be delighted that Osimhen turned down a switch to Chelsea and decided to join them instead.

The 25-year-old has been excellent for Okan Buruk’s side this season. For example, in 11 Turkish league appearances, he has scored nine goals and provided three assists.

Osimhen also scored twice in Galatasaray’s 3-2 win against Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League, which would have delighted any Chelsea fan watching.

Ultimately, the Nigerian’s loan spell in Turkey is proving to be a success and if Galatasaray can find the funds, then they will probably try to sign him permanently at the end of the season.

It has been reported that Juventus are interested in Osimhen, so Galatasaray could face competition from them for his signature next summer.

Should Chelsea make another move for Victor Osimhen?

While Osimhen has not lost his goalscoring touch in Turkey, the Nigeria international should not be a priority for Chelsea in 2025.

Again, Chelsea have Jackson, who has done an excellent job leading the line for them this season.

He is delivering and progressing well. The addition of a No.9 like Osimhen would only halt the 23-year-old’s development.

Right now, there is no space for another forward either, though that could change if Christopher Nkunku leaves the club. Nkunku has reportedly been offered to Barcelona after struggling to find game time at Chelsea.
