Fabrizio Romano reports that Wesley Fofana is expected to miss up to another month of action following a fresh injury.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano explained that the Chelsea defender could be side-lined for a further period of time after wounding himself earlier this week.
Fofana sustained more damage to his already fragile body in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Brentford on Tuesday.
The 22-year-old had literally just overcome the knee problem that he picked up in October.

Up until the battle with the Bees, he hadn’t kicked a ball competitively since that match against AC Milan.
Sadly, it seems the Frenchman will spend even more time in the treatment room, as his body prepares for further bandages.
“What I can tell you is that the feeling around the club and the player is for Wesley Fofana to be ready in three or four weeks, so it’s not a super serious injury,” declared Romano in light of the centre-back’s new issue.
“Chelsea are optimistic to have Fofana in good conditions for January.”
Wesley Fofana unfortunate with injury
Some players have absolutely rotten luck with their physical form, and Fofana is one of the most ill-fated in the sport.
He hardly played at all for Leicester City last season thanks to suffering a medial ligament injury in August 2021.
Despite appearing only 12 times for the Foxes, he still managed to secure a big money move to Stamford Bridge in the summer.

However, it wasn’t until the sixth game of the term that Fofana made his debut, the narrow 2-1 victory over West Ham United.
Adding his second Premier League cap for the Blues may have to wait until the New Year, however.
