Kepa Arrizabalaga has now revealed that he does not feel aligned with the project at Chelsea.
The Spain international shared his true feelings with COPE.
So, what did Kepa Arrizabalaga say about the project at Chelsea? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
Well, Todd Boehly replaced Roman Abramovich with a vision in mind – to hoover up the best young talent around and build a potential super team.
The American has actually spent £230.8m on teenagers alone since competing his takeover in May 2022.
It is a unique approach from Boehly – and only time will tell if it pays off – although Kepa does not seem to support it.
The 28-year-old said: “I felt it was time for a change of scenery. I wanted to stay, but I felt that the Chelsea project was not the right one.”

Strangely, Kepa seems to be speaking as if he isn’t just on loan from Chelsea.
After all, the Spaniard has already admitted he hopes Real Madrid sign him permanently, so it feels as if he’s trying to speak a permanent deal into existence.
Kepa going down a similar route to Lukaku with revealing interview
What is it with Chelsea’s expensive additions digging themselves a hole in the media?
Romelu Lukaku famously put his foot in his mouth with that remarkable interview about Inter Milan, just weeks after returning to Chelsea in a club-record move.

Now, Kepa is going to make things very awkward for himself at Chelsea next summer if he fails to secure a permanent move to Real Madrid or another side.
The £147,000-a-week man was already not too popular amongst fans at Stamford Bridge after years of underwhelming displays, and we doubt supporters will be pleased by his latest comments, including one bizarre line where he claimed that last season was a “great” campaign.
