Moises Caicedo’s move from Brighton & Hove Albion to Chelsea has not been a seamless one.
Chelsea signed Moises Caicedo from their Premier League rivals for £115m (Sky Sports) — a British transfer record — adding a lot of pressure on the midfielder.
Caicedo has since told the club’s official website that he found life at Stamford Bridge tough at first but is in a good place right now.
Unsurprisingly, the 22-year-old has been a mainstay in Mauricio Pochettino‘s team this season, making 34 appearances in all competitions.
Caicedo has also spoken about how much he enjoys playing alongside fellow South American Enzo Fernandez.
Moises Caicedo found Chelsea move tough at first
Caicedo has been really honest about his transfer to Chelsea, admitting that he has not played well in every game.
“At the beginning, I felt the pressure,” the Ecuadorian said. “In my mind, I wanted to show my best football and why the club paid the money for me. After that, I started to speak with people who helped me understand that if Chelsea signed me it’s because I am worth it. I have kept on playing and I know I have to show my best on the pitch.
“Of course, I haven’t played every game well and it was tough at the beginning, but now I feel good and feel I am helping the team. I am only thinking about the game and not what people are saying about me.”

Moises Caicedo has improved compared to the start of the season
Caicedo’s Chelsea career certainly got off to a bad start. He gave away a penalty on his debut as his side went on to lose 3-1 against West Ham United at the London Stadium.
The Ecuador international has not been perfect, but you cannot think of too many other games like his first one for the club.
He has got better and is actually one of the best tacklers in the squad, recording an average of 2.4 tackles per Premier League match (WhoScored).
Costing £115m, his critics will want more than a few tackles a game, though.
Of course, there is nothing Caicedo can do about his price tag. The former Brighton man is now at Chelsea and just has to try and do his best.
