Jadon Sancho has the chance this weekend against Brighton to create a small piece of Chelsea history.
Chelsea’s summer decision to sign Jadon Sancho on loan from Manchester United with an obligation to buy wasn’t met with universal praise, but he’s proved some doubters wrong already.
The Blues squad is now looking extremely strong, especially in the forward positions. Sancho is more than holding his own so far, though.
GiveMeSport previously claimed that Chelsea felt Sancho was the perfect profile for Enzo Maresca’s XI. In fairness, the 24-year-old left-winger has slotted in pretty effortlessly with a couple of eye-catching performances so far at the start of his Blues career.

Jadon Sancho can match Cesc Fabregas and Eden Hazard record
When Chelsea host Brighton this Saturday afternoon in the Premier League, Sancho has the chance to do something no Blues player has done since iconic club figures Cesc Fabregas and Eden Hazard.
BBC Sport has shared that Sancho can become the third player to register an assist in each of his first three Premier League appearances for Chelsea, which would follow in the footsteps of Hazard (2012) and Fabregas (2014).
Sancho came off the bench to provide a match-winning assist on his Chelsea debut earlier this month in a 1-0 victory against Bournemouth. Afterwards, the English attacker started in last weekend’s 3-0 victory away to West Ham and recorded another assist.
Let’s hope he can make his mark on today’s upcoming league fixture. Sancho is included in our Chelsea predicted XI against Brighton.
Jadon Sancho an assist machine
It’s well documented that we didn’t see anywhere near the best version of Sancho as a Manchester United star, but let’s not forget how good he was as a youngster in Germany.
The wide man had a quite phenomenal record as a Borussia Dortmund player.
| Club | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
| Borussia Dortmund | 158 | 53 | 67 |
| Manchester United | 83 | 12 | 6 |
| Chelsea | 2 | 0 | 2 |
If Sancho can recreate his Dortmund form in Chelsea colours, we’re in for something quite special at Stamford Bridge this season.
