Chelsea have ‘a real problem’ with goalkeepers after Filip Jorgensen error vs Aston Villa

Chelsea fans were fuming at Jorgensen after his error, and the Blues’ poor domestic run continued in the battle for the top four.

Maresca was insistent that Jorgensen was the number one after a poor run of form for Robert Sanchez between the sticks.

However, Jamie Redknapp believes with both ‘keepers making high-profile errors, Chelsea have a real issue when it comes to the goalkeeping position right now.

He said to Sky Sports: “He won’t want to see that again, it’s awful goalkeeping. They’ve left themselves with a real problem, because they’ve both made mistakes.

“He’s got a lot of time to see it. I mean, it’s horrible for him. It’s one of those, everyone makes mistakes but when it’s a goalkeeper it’s so much worse.”

The most frustrating thing for Chelsea will be that Jorgensen had actually enjoyed a decent performance until the error. He had made a number of big saves to deny Ollie Watkins and Donyell Malen.

However, with individual errors the source of the majority of their points being dropped of late, there will be nowhere for the former Villarreal man to hide when it comes to the post-mortem of this defeat.
