Chelsea goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic is going to be “very angry” even after his side cruised into the League Cup final last night.
That is according to Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.
Chelsea booked their spot in next month’s Carabao Cup final after thrashing Middlesbrough by a 6-1 scoreline on Tuesday evening.
The Blues were trailing 1-0 on aggregate from the first leg, but it was a very one-sided second leg yesterday at Stamford Bridge.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side can certainly help deflect away from mediocre league form by reaching a domestic cup final at Wembley Stadium. Next, they host Aston Villa in a couple of days time in the FA Cup fourth round.

Hasselbaink, who worked as a TV pundit for Chelsea vs Middlesbrough on Sky Sports’ Main Event channel, made an interesting comment about the Blues goalkeeper.
He suggested that Djordje Petrovic, 24, will be fuming about conceding last night. Boro’s Morgan Rogers scored an 88th minute consolation goal with a low effort from outside the box.
Hasselbaink said in his post-match analysis: “It is important to keep a clean sheet. I bet you that the goalkeeper is going to be very, very angry that he got a goal against. But not a lot of games you are doing to be 6-0 up. There might be a game where you are 1-0 up and it has to become a habit that you keep clean sheets. If it breeds to your team clean sheets, clean sheets. You are going to be successful.”
Djordje Petrovic will be angry
Petrovic didn’t have much to do before he was beaten by Rogers’ great strike.
We suspect he’ll soon be in a very close battle with teammate Robert Sanchez for Chelsea’s No 1 position in-between the sticks, so you want to take every little margin in your favour that you can.
The Evening Standard recently reported that Chelsea are content with Petrovic and Sanchez as their first team goalkeepers moving forward. We may be narrowly favouring the former based off form so far this season.
