Chelsea have maintained their 100 per cent winning record in this season’s Conference League by crushing Legia Warsaw away from home.
On Thursday evening, the Blues produced an impressive second-half performance to beat Legia Warsaw 3-0 in the first leg of the Conference League quarter-final clash.
Even though the contest was goalless at half time, Enzo Maresca’s side put their foot down after the break to seize control of the two-legged tie. Noni Madueke (two) and Tyrique George were on the scoresheet to earn a three-goal lead to take back to Stamford Bridge.
Many Chelsea players impressed versus Legia Warsaw as they showed why they’re the clear tournament favourites.

Joe Cole tells Jadon Sancho he can be more direct after Legia Warsaw performance
Overall, Jadon Sancho should be delighted with his contribution to the Legia Warsaw victory. Despite a quiet opening 45 minutes, he came alive in the second period to provide both assists for Madueke’s goals.
Former Chelsea star Joe Cole reacted to Sancho’s European performance by claiming he needs to be “more direct”, something he did do in the second half.
Cole told TNT Sports (7:40pm, 10 April): “A big night for this man, Sancho. There’s a lot of talk about his future.
When reacting to his second assist, Cole added: “That’s what I want to see more from him: take him on the outside. You want to see him be more direct, and he was tonight in the second half. Pleased for him as well.”

We noticed that Sancho was far more effective in the second half as the left-winger compared to the opening 45 minutes when he operated from the right.
Speaking earlier in April, Chelsea head coach Maresca told Sancho he can improve his attacking output. Well, the 25-year-old’s responded perfectly with some key contributions in an important European fixture.

Jadon Sancho answers some critics
It’s certainly not been smooth sailing for Sancho since he joined Chelsea from Manchester United on loan with an obligation to buy.
Chelsea fans have been angry with Sancho in recent weeks because his form has stalled. However, the winger is now up to two goals and nine assists in 31 Blues appearances across all competitions this season.
It was recently claimed that Sancho is ‘very happy’ at Stamford Bridge, even if he’s been at the centre of criticism lately.
The Englishman should get a real boost from a couple of important assists in the Legia Warsaw victory, but can that now be the springboard for him to finish the season strongly?
