Chelsea youngster Leo Castledine is an emerging talent at Stamford Bridge that supporters will fall in love with.

That is according to Blues legend John Terry.

Leo Castledine, who’s only 18, is part of the latest batch of talented youngsters in Chelsea’s academy at Cobham.

The attacking midfielder’s been a key player for the Blues Under-21s team this season.

Remarkably, the London-born teenager was rewarded for his development with a first-team debut last night. It’s quite the feat to make your senior debut in a Carabao Cup semi-final second leg, which Chelsea did win 6-1 against Middlesbrough to reach next month’s final.

Blues debutant Castledine replaced Raheem Sterling for the final five minutes on a memorable evening.

John Terry message

Unsurprisingly, Chelsea icon Terry was one of the first on scene to congratulate Castledine after his debut.

It’s fantastic for the Blues rising stars to receive such praise and attention from a club legend.

Terry wrote on X: “Congratulations Leo. Love him and so will the Chelsea fans, he is like a magnet in the box.”

Leo Castledine the next Chelsea talent

Let’s hope Castledine made the first of many appearances in Chelsea’s first team last night.

Football.London claimed back in November that Castledine is very highly thought of by many people within the Chelsea camp.

Therefore, it’s not the biggest surprise that his senior debut has come just a couple of months later.

The England Under-19 international has now had a brief taste of it with the senior, so we’re sure he’ll be hungry for even more.

Blues head coach Mauricio Pochettino does deserve big credit this season for the way he’s continued to introduce academy lads into the main squad. It’s so important that the pathway is kept open because we’ve produced so much talent in the last decade.
