Chelsea have been very selective over the players they have signed this summer, and their decision to not bring in one transfer target has instantly been proven right.
Despite being happy to spend big money on Joao Pedro and Jamie Gittens already during this transfer window, there have been deals they have walked away from due to it not being on their terms.
This occurred with goalkeeper Mike Maignan, who many expected to move to Stamford Bridge before the Club World Cup got underway.
However, Chelsea walked away from Maignan before the tournament got underway, and reaped the rewards as Robert Sanchez claimed the Golden Glove award.

Jose Mourinho proves Chelsea right over Jhon Duran
Another player the Blues were linked with was Jhon Duran, after he made it clear he wanted to leave Saudi Arabia after spending just one season there.
Chelsea had previous interest in the striker, however said no to signing Duran this summer, instead looking towards the likes of Liam Delap and Pedro to transform their attack.
It has been reported that off-field problems were behind the Blues not making the move, and he went on to link up with Jose Mourinho at Fenerbache.
Things have not got off to the best start though, and according to Marca, Duran did not turn up for training on his first day, angering the former Chelsea boss in the process.
Mourinho is already going to take winning over by his new signing, however has given Chelsea instant clarity that they made the right call not looking to bring him in this summer.

Chelsea considering another new striker this summer
Despite already transforming their attack ahead of the 2025/26 season, reports have claimed Chelsea might not be done yet.
The Blues are expected to enter the market again if they part ways with Nicolas Jackson, whose future is very unclear at this moment.
Jackson didn’t feature at all in the Club World Cup final, and he has immense competition for his place after two years of smooth sailing.
A number of big clubs are interested in signing the Senegal striker already, and is a situation that is expected to play out in the coming weeks.
