Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has raved about Brighton’s Moises Caicedo and Alexis Mac Allister, who are two players linked with Chelsea during the January transfer window.

Speaking in his press conference today, Klopp has highlighted the importance of two Brighton players as his Liverpool side prepare to face them on Sunday in the FA Cup.

“Against Brighton, it’s massively important how you defend the first line. They are that good with Caicedo and Mac Allister,” Klopp said, as quoted by Liverpool’s official YouTube channel.

The fact Brighton currently sit sixth in the Premier League table does indicate they have a lot of quality players, something that’s certainly the case in the midfield.

A Caicedo-Mac Allister pivot in the centre of the park is proving consistently this season to be one of the very best in the division.

Chelsea have raided the Amex Stadium several times in the past 12 months for players, managers and staff. There’s recent speculation this January that they are not done yet, though.

Journalist Ben Jacobs recently claimed on ‘The Done Deal Show’ that Chelsea’s efforts to sign Caicedo this month are likely to go down to the wire to the final seconds of the January transfer window.

The 21-year-old is an all-action midfielder with incredible energy, aggression and quality in the Brighton line-up.

As for 24-year-old Mac Allister, he’s another Seagulls player linked with a potential move to Stamford Bridge.

Tutto Mercato Web reported this week that Brighton have rejected a €55million (£49million) from Chelsea for World Cup winner Mac Allister.

If Chelsea were able to bring in either of the aforementioned duo, Graham Potter should be delighted with improvements in the midfield.
