Chelsea fans are still reeling from the news that they will not be going into their next fixture against Manchester City without Enzo Maresca in charge.
The club made the decision on New Years Day to part ways with Maresca, with tensions between the former manager and ownership clear to see.
At the early stages, Liam Rosenior has emerged as one of the favourites to take the job following his impressive work as Strasbourg manager.
Enzo Maresca has officially left Chelsea! Who would you like to see replace the Italian? 🤔
With the Ligue 1 club also being under the BlueCo banner, the English manager has worked with the likes of Andrey Santos and Mike Penders, who are expected to have bright futures at Stamford Bridge.

Strasbourg need a new manager before Chelsea hire Liam Rosenior
Even if Chelsea decide to bring in the Strasbourg manager at this stage, they will not want to leave the other BlueCo club in dire straits. They have a great chance at winning the Conference League this season.
Sky journalist Kaveh Solhekol has stated to Sky Sports News that the Blues hiring Rosenior is going to rely on Strasbourg finding a suitable replacement to enter the model at their level.
He said: “Liam Rosenior is the leading candidate – his potential appointment is likely to depend on Strasbourg finding an adequate replacement.
“The Ligue 1 club are playing Nice on Saturday as the French season re-starts after a short winter break.
“Rosenior has previously turned down interest from Nottingham Forest and Bayer Leverkusen, the latter on two previous occasions before and after Erik ten Hag’s appointment.”
With how the club’s model works, the next Strasbourg manager could easily have a pathway to the hotseat at Stamford Bridge, and the club must take care with the decision.
Who or what is to blame for Chelsea’s poor form? 📉
Plenty of big names already out the running for Chelsea job
Many supporters will have been hoping that the replacement of Maresca would be an established name in the game to take the project forwards.
However, a number of those have already been ruled out the running. Oliver Glasner is not going to be the next Chelsea manager despite uncertainty over his contract at Crystal Palace.
Cesc Fabregas is another who is not under consideration, with the likelihood that it will be a younger coach who comes through the door.
Porto manager Francesco Farioli is under consideration, after his brilliant 2025/26 season so far.
