Chelsea players will be going into 2026 with a new manager in charge of the club following the decision of Enzo Maresca to leave the club.
The Italian delivered two trophies during his time at Stamford Bridge, however a poor December mixed with internal issues at the club saw a swift exit.
Liam Rosenior is an early favourite to take the Chelsea job, however has a job on his hands to get the best out of a young, inexperienced squad.
What would you make of this, Chelsea fans?🤔
One player who flourished in particular under Maresca was Marc Cucurella, emerging as one of the best left-backs in world football over the past 12 months.

Marc Cucurella’s emotional goodbye to Enzo Maresca
It is perhaps not a surprise to see the Spaniard be the first player to break their silence following the manager’s departure, taking to Instagram to wish the Italian well.
He said: “Thank you for everything, mister, and to your staff. For the work and the trust from day one, and for the memories!
“Wishing you all the best in what comes next. Good luck, boss!”
Chelsea will need to pick their next manager wisely as fans begin to lose patience with the project at Stamford Bridge, and hiring Rosenior would be seen as a massive risk.
Enzo Maresca has officially left Chelsea! Who would you like to see replace the Italian? 🤔
Big names already ruled out of Chelsea job
A number of big-name candidates have already been ruled out of the search for the now vacant managerial role in West London.
Oliver Glasner will not become the next Chelsea boss, despite the fact that his contract with Crystal Palace runs out at the end of the season.
Cesc Fabregas has also been ruled out of the running, with his managerial career starting well at Como in Italy.
The list of candidates is not expected to be large, and all parties would love a deal to be in place for the new manager to be in the dugout before the game against Manchester City on Sunday.
