Mauricio Pochettino has now shared that he was not completely happy with what he saw from his Chelsea side last night despite their dominant victory.

He told Sky Sports that conceding a goal late in the day against Middlesbrough was enough to leave a bad taste in the mouth on what was an otherwise great evening at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea went into last night’s game with an attacking squad as they looked to turn around the 1-0 deficit they suffered in the first leg of this tie.

It took them less than 15 minutes to get started, on their way to scoring six goals before the game was up.

Enzo Fernandez, Cole Palmer, Axel Disasi and Noni Madueke all got involved in the goalscoring, as Chelsea made light work of their Championship opposition at last.

However, Pochettino has explained that his side conceding late to Morgan Rogers left him angry at the full-time whistle.

He said: “I was really upset. I was really upset because we need to learn from that. We need to play seriously until the end.

“I am disappointed. We are disappointed because we conceded a goal and this is not good. Because we are a team that we need to use every single second to prove, we cannot miss this type of action.

“It didn’t kill my happiness but I was a little bit disappointed to finish the game.”

While a clean sheet would certainly have been nice for Djordje Petrovic and his defenders to walk away with, an emphatic victory is certainly what everyone inside Stamford Bridge will be happiest with after last night.

The Blues will watch on tonight as they wait to see if it is Liverpool or Fulham they are set to face in the final at Wembley in a few weeks’ time.
