Even though Chelsea picked up a vital win over Tottenham, only one Blues player made it into the Premier League’s Team of the Week.
Chelsea and Spurs rounded up the midweek fixtures in the Premier League with a fiery contest at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues beat Spurs 1-0 to regain fourth position in the division table. However, the race for Champions League qualification looks extremely tight right now.

Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez miss out on Team of the Week, Cole Palmer makes it
The Blues’ midfield engine room of Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez dominated for large spells against Spurs on Thursday evening. In Chelsea’s player ratings versus Spurs, they were two of the star performers.
Fernandez scored the match-winning goal with his headed goal, while Caicedo had a stunning volley ruled out for offside by VAR.
However, both missed out on a place in WhoScored’s Premier League Team of the Week. Instead, Chelsea teammate Cole Palmer made the XI.
It was an important game against Spurs for Palmer, registering his first assist since 1 December with an excellent cross into the penalty box. Hopefully, we think the attacking playmaker is now set for a strong end to the season.
Chelsea’s biggest winners against Spurs included Palmer because he’s judged a lot on his attacking output.
Even though the goals and assists have dried up in 2025, it’s still been a really strong individual season from him during his second year in West London.

Cole Palmer hasn’t lost creative spark
The good news for Chelsea fans is that Palmer still looks like the chief creator in the starting XI.
Following the midweek win over Spurs, the England star returned to the top of the pile in the Premier League for most chances created this season.
Now that Blues striker Nicolas Jackson is back playing, we’re anticipating Palmer to hit a purple patch of form. The duo combine superbly well when they’re on the football pitch together because their styles match.
