While his teammates may laugh at him every now and again, Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo was anything but a joke over the weekend.
Moises Caicedo scored one of the goals of the season so far against Manchester United after volleying the ball into the bottom corner of Andre Onana’s net.
“The timing and technique is absolutely perfect,” were the words of former Liverpool defender Jim Beglin following his strike.
Caicedo has since spoken about his goal, which will live long in the memory of Chelsea supporters.

Moises Caicedo discusses goal at Old Trafford
Trailing 1-0 after a Bruno Fernandes penalty, which Robert Sanchez conceded, it was a big goal for Chelsea.
And it may have surprised some, with Caicedo revealing that his teammates sometimes joke about his lack of goals.
Speaking to Chelsea’s official website, the 23-year-old said: “In my mind before the goal, I said to myself if the ball is arriving on my side, I’m going to shoot first time, and I did!
“My teammates sometimes joke with me because I don’t score too many goals, but my job is just to help the team in any way I can. This time was scoring a goal to win us one point.
“I am so happy for the goal and the equaliser because we didn’t lose the game. It was the moment to score a goal. We knew if we waited for a long time it was going to be complicated. It was important for the team.”
Caicedo has delighted the Chelsea board, who spent big money to bring him to Stamford Bridge. The Ecuadorian is the most expensive signing in Premier League history after joining Chelsea from Brighton & Hove Albion in a £115m deal.
Moises Caicedo has scored two of Chelsea’s best ever goals
Caicedo has not been at Chelsea for long, having only signed for the Blues last year. However, the two goals he has scored for them will go down in the club’s history.
While his strike against United was both beautiful and crucial, his sole goal last season was even better.
In Chelsea’s final game of the campaign versus Bournemouth, Caicedo managed to score from the halfway line after catching Neto out of his box.
The Ecuador international does not score often, but when he does, it is never a goal to forget.
Enzo Maresca will be looking for Caicedo to provide defensive stability in Chelsea’s next game, though, rather than firepower.
His side welcome Arsenal to Stamford Bridge in a match where Chelsea are likely to be tested defensively. The Gunners obviously have some really talented attacking players, including Bukayo Saka and former Chelsea forward Kai Havertz.
