Chelsea’s Axel Disasi celebrated on social media after helping his side record a dominant victory last night in the Carabao Cup.

His performance earned him big praise from several teammates, too.

The Blues handled the pressure of a Carabao Cup semi-final last night by thrashing Championship club Middlesbrough 6-1 at Stamford Bridge.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side ran out 6-2 aggregate winners across the two legs, so they’ll now face either Fulham or Liverpool in next month’s League Cup final.

Chelsea defender Axel Disasi, 25, enjoyed a great performance in the cup win over Boro.

The versatile Frenchman was a great attacking threat from the right-back position, which even culminated in a first-half goal. Incidentally, it was his first goal since the opening day of the league campaign versus Liverpool.

He uploaded a message on Instagram to celebrate the Blues reaching a final.

Chelsea teammates Malo Gusto and Benoit Badiashile both responded in the comment section with messages calling him the man of the match.

Axel Disasi impresses against Middlesbrough

Disasi is getting a lot of praise for his midweek contribution in a semi-final, rightly so.

Cole Palmer was awarded the player of the match after Chelsea’s victory over Boro because of his two goals. However, speaking via Sky Sports after the game, Palmer admitted Disasi could have easily won the individual prize over him.

There’s certainly a trust from Pochettino in Disasi. In fact, him and Levi Colwill are the club’s joint-highest appearance makers this season (27). It’s no coincidence that they’re both defenders capable of playing either centre-half or full-back.

We’re certainly intrigued to see the manager’s long-term vision for defence because there’s plenty of options in the squad once everyone’s fit at Stamford Bridge.

For Disasi, he’ll cement his spot in the line-up even further with more displays similar to this week.
